Department of Plastic Surgery/ Micro Plastic/ Cosmetic Surgery
| The term ‘Plastic’ is derived from the Greek word ‘ Plastikos’ , which means to mould or to give form. Plastic surgery aims at restoring normal form to body parts that had been deformed by birth, injury or disease. Department of Plastic Surgery is managed by two fully trained plastic Surgeons. It offers multiple forms of plastic surgery such as Head and Neck Cancer Reconstruction, Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Surgery, Craniofacial Surgery, Hand Surgery, Reconstructive Micro Surgery, and Burns and General Plastic Surgery. The Department is equipped with Carl Zeiss Vario Microscope and routine microvascular free tissue transfers and replantations are done here. It is one of the few microvascular centres in the Country offering hi-tech treatment for head and neck cancer. |
